Educate Yourself: Learn about the issues faced by the homeless community, such as lack of affordable housing, mental health challenges, and access to healthcare. Understanding these issues will help you advocate more effectively. read more

 

Volunteer: Get involved with local organizations that support the homeless, such as shelters, food banks, and outreach programs. Volunteering your time can provide valuable insights and direct support to those in need. read more

Raise Awareness: Use your voice to raise awareness about homelessness. Share information on social media, write blog posts, or organize community events to educate others about the challenges faced by the homeless. read more

Engage in Community Discussions: Participate in local government meetings, town halls, and community forums to discuss homelessness and advocate for policies that support the homeless population. read more

The 2-1-1 Texas/United Way HELPLINE is a free, confidential helpline available 24/7, 365 days a year. It connects Texans to essential community-based services, such as utility assistance, rent and mortgage assistance, housing, public benefits, and food assistance.
